Well I did something good for an animal today.
I have a big place in my heart for all animals and a friend of mine was having to give up her cat to the pound. She even talked about doing it today just to get it over with. Let me go into more detail. She called me Monday worried sick about her cat Zoe. She is moving into another place as a roommate and the owner does not want her cat coming along. She told me that she asked all her friends, family and co-workers and no one was able to give the feline a home. So Monday I gave her eight listings of animal recues in the area in hopes that she will be able to find a home. She had no luck. Either no one called her back or they did not have room.
Last night, unable to sleep, I remembered that I had met this woman, she was hot btw, that used to work at a vet hospital and now does some part time rescue for both dogs and cats but mostly cats. So today I was helping my friend move and take things to the dump and I remembered what I thought of last night. So I told my friend to call this girl, that it might be a long shot, but to tell her that she knows me and ask if she might know of or be able to point my friend in the right direction for a safe home for her cat since the last option that she had was the pound.
So my friend makes the call, they talk for a while and when she hangs up the next thing I know my friend is in total tears. The girl I had her call told my friend that she would call around and if she could not find a home she would take the cat on a rescue basis!!! She told my friend that it usually only takes her two weeks to find a home for her rescue animals. Then my friend told me over and over how she had been crying all week that she could not find a home and hated the fact that she would have to turn it over to the pound because she knew it would be destroyed.
A happy ending for Zoe the cat!!!!
