Took the kid out today. Had a real good time for the most part. We ended up not doing what we planned on doing but all in all had fun. He cannot beat me in air hockey. I rule!!!! NO, I will not let him win. I believe that the only way he can get better is to play someone who is better. I can see his competitiveness coming alive when he plays me in that game. He did beat my friends that came along with us today so he did get some consolation in that. He even called me "old timer"! That was a new one for me but that is o.k. As long as he never beats me in air hockey I will be o.k. I dread the day when he finally beats me cause I know I will never hear the end of it.
We still have not found any pinball machines to play which is what he claims to be the best at. I was jawing real hard today and he will probably smoke me when we do find one to play. He beats me like a j.v. squad when it comes to video games and for some reason I think he expects that adults just don't play them and for the most part are not any good any more. And that being said, I am dissapointed in todays arcade games. They are too hard to play and even the kid says that.
Next week we are going to Hooters to eat and I promised him I would find a place this week that has pinball games. I know what you are thinking, I am supposed to be a good influence on him and not take to a place like Hooters but he asked me to and who am I to so no to Hooters? I can't get any of my friends to go with me so hey, here we go next Saturday! I keep a clean language around him, try my best not to hit on the chics and say things I am supposed to say. I do hope that one hot blonde is working next week!!!
Anyway, guilt is creeping up on me like a a weed because I have not been to the gym in over two weeks. Yes I needed a break but have went back to my old ways and that is not a good thing. Luckily I have not put much at all back on and if I can just get the "courage" back up to get my butt back in there things will be o.k. I am going to do it a bit different next time. Go in at around four instead of 3. Do a 1/2 hour instead of an hour. I can only handle so much of that music they play. Ashley Simpson and Justin Timberlake for a work out is a downer. Maybe that is my age talking and maybe it ain't. I would rather listen to some metal or good dance tunes but every now and then a good song will come on and the workout will get better.
Btw, I love my Bavarian Motor Works vehicle!
