Good news for the hurricane vic!  The Mayor of Knoxville is getting involved to help her out!  I am so excited for her.  I had goosebumps when I heard that after all of this time since she has been here they are finally helping her out.  They finally emailed back my aunt today and they were already on there way to move her today but she was caught totally unexpected she refused to be moved until tomorrow.  The moving tomorrow is something that some friends and I had already planned on doing for her.  A couple of us took her out to lunch today to go over what we are going to do tomorrow so we would all be on the same page.  My aunt told me that the Mayor also called community assistance and they are going to help her as well but I am not sure exactly how yet.

Apparently from what I was told she fell through the cracks and they did not know that she was still here.  The area she is staying at is full of drugs, murder and prostituion and everyone involved has been worrying about her and we finally got the help we needed to find her a new place to stay.  Then today was when the Mayor got involved.  A van, which is going to be supplied by the city, is going to meet us there at her place at noon to help us take her and her animals to a new, safer place to live.  Yay for the hurricane vic!

But, this is only the beginning for her.  There is still so much that needs to be done for her.  It turns out that the money that she thought she was going to receive is not on its way.  Apparently a form that was needed to be sent in she did not do.  That will be taken care of next week.  After that we are hoping to be able to help her find a job withing walking distance from where she will be until she can buy a car.  Sometime in the midst of all this she needs to find a place of residence that will accept her animals.  I do not think that will be a big problem but it still needs to happen for her.  I think she needs the car first since room and board is paid for by FEMA.

But keep her in your prayers.  She is going through more than I could even begin to imagine.  Her mother was killed by her father when she was two.  She has not talked to him in years and he lives somewhere in Arkansas.  She has no other family.  All of her friends all died in the hurricane and everything she had was destroyed as well.  She walked throught the flood waters, pushing away floating dead bodies, to go to help.  Put yourself in her shoes.  She came here with absolutely nothing.

So tomorrow will be a brand new day for her.  I told her earlier to just go with the flow.  She is not used to people being nice to her.  She admitted she did not want all of this fuss about her but I told her to just relax and let it all happen.  She will so much better off after all of this is done.  Go hurricane vic!
