The view from Dad's place
Explosion from the past
Wow. What a day this has been for me. Facebook brought someone that I have not heard about or from in 23 years. She was my first love and someone who I have always thought about.
Since I have been seeing this girl lately who was from my old youth group at church who looked me up on facebook, once I added her as a friend I have been innondated with friend requests. I went from 6 friends to 36 in no time. So today when I got another friend request I almost deleted it before I looked at it. So I clicked on it to see who it was and damn I could not believe my eyes. There she was asking me for a friend request after all thes years. I was in shock. I could not believe it was her and she was still as beautiful, maybe more so, than I remember.
I had to get up and walk around for a bit. I would have thought that after all of these years that the impact of seeing her let alone having a conversation after all of these years would not have been so bad. But I was in a daze. I used to worship this girl (who is now 41).
So I sent her an email and she wrote back. We caught up a bit. She is married to an Air Force guy, she met him when she was in the Air Force, and hey have two kids one 9 and the other 6. I think she has been married for 10 years now. He is going to be deployed again in Afghanistan real soon. She is a lead singer in a cover band where he plays the drums and they live in Phoenix.
So I gave her a little bio of me and we sent each other a couple of emails.
I have to admit that it was awesome to hear from her again and I told her so. This will go nowhere but still. Damn.
