Well soon I will have a "little brother".  I had my meeting this afternoon with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and chose two kids that I would like to be a big brother to.  It was not the easiest thing to do and I felt a bit guilty for not chosing the other two that were presented to me.

I do not know when I will have my first meeting with the kid but it might be as soon as this coming Saturday or one night next week when I get home from work.  I am looking forward to doing this.  The kid I choose is a lot like I am personality wise and he has no male role model in his life.  I hope to be a good influence on him and do some fun things with him.  Football games, baseball games, going to the zoo, going to the movies.  Stuff like that.  This will be fun.  I know when I was a kid the positive role model for me was my youth minister.  I am not going to preach to the kid and won't even talk about that stuff unless he asks me but if I can do something good for a kid like my youth pastor did for me I will be a happy guy.
